Have you ever thought about writing a letter to yourself? Not just to the person you are today, but also to the person you were and the person you are becoming?
If you haven’t, I invite you to do so now. It’s a powerful exercise—one that brings clarity, gratitude, and excitement for the journey ahead.
This idea isn’t new, but it remains as meaningful as ever. Inspired by words from Karin Hadadan, I found myself reflecting on how each version of me—past, present, and future—is deeply connected. Here’s what I would say:
A Letter to My Past Self
First, let’s start with gratitude.
To my past self: Thank you. Thank you for your resilience, your determination, and your willingness to push through even when things felt impossible. You have made mistakes—plenty of them. And yet, every single one has been a lesson that has shaped who I am today.
I forgive you for the times you were too hard on yourself. I understand now that you were doing the best you could with what you knew. You showed up, even when you were afraid. You kept going, even when you doubted yourself. And for that, I am deeply grateful.

A Letter to My Present Self
To my present self: Be where your feet are.
It’s easy to get caught up in what’s next, always chasing the next goal, the next achievement. But right now, in this very moment, you are exactly where you are supposed to be.
Take a deep breath. Look around. Appreciate the progress you have made. You are stronger, wiser, and more capable than you give yourself credit for. And even on the days when you feel stuck or uncertain, trust that you are still moving forward.
Keep going. You’re doing better than you think.
A Letter to My Future Self
To my future self: I’m excited to meet you.
I don’t know exactly who you will become, but I know you will be shaped by the choices I make today. And so, I promise to continue learning, growing, and stepping outside of my comfort zone. I will embrace challenges as opportunities, and I will trust that everything is unfolding as it should.
I can’t wait to see all the new parts of you—the wisdom, the experiences, the people you will meet along the way. Until then, I will keep showing up for you, one step at a time.

Bringing It All Together
Past, present, and future—you are all part of the same journey. One cannot exist without the other. So let’s embrace every version of ourselves, knowing that we are always evolving.
And to you, my dear friend reading this: Take a moment today to acknowledge how far you’ve come. Give yourself grace for where you are. And look forward with excitement to the person you are becoming.
Because no matter where you are on your journey, you are exactly where you’re meant to be.
